Even the MS heat cant stop me!

Ladies and Gents, I have been working out this entire week for two hours at a time outside in 100 plus Mississippi heat with my son. We have played soccer, baseball, and I have steadily increased my ability to run circles around the baseball fields. I have not felt this good in years, and I am actually jogging around the field!!!! If I could just get my breathing technique better, I could keep going! It frustrates me that I can't! Oh well, all in due time! I am feeling great and reaping the rewards of it! I do not plan to quit anytime soon either! I am loving all this activity and I have no idea what I used to do with all this time when I was enormously obese! haha. Will report back soon!

I HAVE NOT QUIT!

Ladies and Boys, I have officially survived a week of my own "Insanity", P90X and Shaun T's Insanity can't touch what I've put my body through this week. I have spent anywhere from 6-12 hrs a day working non stop in my yard relandscaping, digging, planting, tilling, you name it, I've been doing it. I haven't felt this good since I was a teenager and I'm running out of things to work on outside, which makes me sad! I have officially lost 30 lbs, no telling how much muscle I've gained, and I measured this morning and I've lost 10 inches in my waist and 5 inches in my chest-al area! I feel the difference, I see the difference, and I know the difference in myself. I never could have worked this hard if I hadn't had started this project. I never would have made it an hour outside working that hard, in that heat, if I hadn't gotten myself in shape first. I have by NO means quit. I am still doing light work outs around my outdoor work, and will get back on a heavy work out schedule when all my outdoor work is over. Now, I plan to work outside some more today so I will be back!

I've got my focus back

I could just hit myself over my own head for losing focus this last week, yes, I did work out some, but I'll admit, I have not been bringing it like I should have been. I have had so many excuses, and thats all they were, excuses. I've come too far to quit now, I'm not done yet. I'm getting back on the bandwagon and riding into where I want to be. I did my full disco dance workout this morning, weights, and abs. I WILL be doing my workout tonight too. I go get groceries tomorrow, so will be stocking up on my foods again, the only thing I've cheated on was ice cream thanks to the summer heat lately. I will be glad when my sunburn is gone, I can go swimming again and do some more water exercise, this time however, I will wear sunscreen no matter how cloudy it is. I want to start jogging, but I still have this nagging cough that acts up every time I get too hot, so I wish that would get resolved already. Jab, cross, and bring it

Todays workout was Kenpo X, weights, and abs. Great workout, I am in so much pain trying to workout with this severe sunburn, my shoulders feel like someone is taking a grinder to them, when I try to flex, I work through most of it, but theres no way to say that it doesn't hurt. Oh let me tell you, and this may be TMI, but I cheated and ate some carbs the other night, and OMG, I will never do it again! I thought I was dying! Thats what I get for cheating for being lazy that night. I have officially learned my lesson! I hate carbs, I don't see how I used to live with eating so much of it everyday, no wonder I felt like I did back then. It's horrible to think of what I was feeding my body then. I don't even look at food the same now. I eat to live, I don't live to eat. Will throw in another workout tonight, and plan to take the kids to the zoo and park today, so I'll be getting in some walking and exercise while with them today. See you tomorrow!

Late night blog, but I'm here

Sorry this is so late, it's been just crazy here this week. I went to the water park and swam all day and did numerous, numerous laps walking around the lazy river. It was a great workout, however, I also gained quite a sunburn! I did workout today, dance weights and abs, got the girls to do it with me, was a little painful thanks to the sunburn, but I pushed through it. Diet is good, not as hungry still which is good. I have my moments where I crave something sweet though, gotta find some good options for that. Tired of strawberries. Anyway, going to bed now will blog again tomorrow!

Water day!

Goooooood Morning! I did my weights and abs this morning, since I'm going to be swimming all day, I didn't want to be sore, and I figured I'd be getting a workout anyway. Going to take the kids to the water park all day. I can't wait! Got some more new clothes in yesterday that I had ordered, and they all fit, even the dress, which I haven't worn a dress in years! Diet still good. Watching the sodium right now, it's so easy not to pay attention to those types of things, but I've never had high cholesterol, always come in low, so I want to keep it that way. I will be having another overall cholesterol, glucose, health check next time I go to the doc. Can't wait to see the results. Anyway, off to get the kiddos ready for today, wish me luck! Intense!

Great workout today (and yesterday since I didn't blog, I was in the road ALL day long), but I did do my two workouts yesterday, and this morning I did dance weights and abs. I've got to get back to the P90x workouts as well. I keep adding different ab moves as often as I can. I need to research some new ones as well. Diet still going good, cooked the family hamburgers and fries the other night, and cooked my turkey burgers, with wheat buns, and no side item, with water. Just as delicious. I was stuffed! Planning on goin to the water park tomorrow, so it will be my first swimsuit outing since all this. Wish me luck, I need to get my tan on! Still got a couple of days before I can do my justified measurements. I will let you know as soon as I get those. Plan to work outside today and sweat off some more of this water retention, oh so much fun! Atleast my yard is looking good this year thanks to all this! Now if only I had tons of more money to throw into it. Anyway, I will see you guys tomorrow!

Missed a day, but I'm back

Sorry guys for missing yesterday, we've had tournament games all weekend, some shopping to do, and ended up in the ER last night with a baseball injury. However, I do have some great news, I weighed yesterday, even though this is my main week to retain all kinds of water, I've still lost another 4 lbs!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!! I went and bought me two new swim suits, and it's not a mu-mu this time, still not a bikini, but hey, I'm getting closer, I dont look like a beached white whale anymore! I'm planning to take the kids to the water park next week to get my swim and tan on, so no cover up mu-mu this time either! Diets good had another great salad yesterday with grilled chicken and bacon vinagerette, it was delicious! Going to work in the yard some later, so that'll be a little extra workout. Going to go get ready for the day so I will see you tomorrow, I promise! P.S. I just realized I didn't even mention my workout, I did dance weights and abs this morning and will do them again tonight. Now, I'm done!

Rock the Combo

Whew! Do the electric slide with me! Disco workout today was rockin, or should I say groovy! Did disco, weights and abs, and will do them again tonight after yet another ballgame! Whew! Went out to dinner last night with family, had steak, salad and sweet tater, so I didnt do too bad, got my calories in for sure! It was delicious though, thats the first beef I've had in two months. Had my eggs and bacon this morning for breakfast, breakfast of champions! haha. I'm having to make myself stop and atleast have a shake for lunch because I've been going non stop here lately. Its hard to fit in all this eating! Imagine that! I've realized that I'm going to have to get my wedding ring sized down, will probably wait a little bit longer to see if my finger shrinks anymore, but I'm having more and more occurances where it almost falls off. Don't want that to happen. But it will have to be sized down, which I'm happy about. Gotta go get me a new swimsuit, last years does not fit by a long shot now and I wanna take the kids to the water park, so gotta get a new one! Woohoo! Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow!

Stress Reliever!

Dance, weights and abs this morning were awesome! I got a very late start thanks to sleeping late, but hey, I still did my workout! My husband came home last night which has been a great mood booster! He noticed the difference in me and kept mentioning it, which I've needed to hear for a while now! I hope he gets to stay home! Either way, whatever happens, I can handle it and will work through it. I thought my schedule would settle down a bit when the kids got out of school, but I think it's just gotten 10 times more crazy! Oh well, diet still going good, had a great chicken salad yesterday out to eat with balsamic vinegar, love that stuff, and I dont have to feel guilty afterwards, still got my cough, but hope to work through all that. Coffee and cough drops are my friend right now. Oh well, going to go get cleaned up for the day I will see you folks tomorrow!

Working out even when sick!

Cough, cough! I have had a cough the last week that is more of a constant tickle, annoying, but thank goodness it hasn't turned into a full sinus infection, but anytime I get hot, I can't quit coughing, so I had a little trouble doing dance, weights, and abs this morning for the coughing, but I worked through it! Last night I didn't get home till late, we had an awesome ballgame, and I was coughing some kinda terrible, so I just went to bed. Hopefully, it will go away soon, I know if I wasn't working out and in shape like I am that I would be much worse off, much sicker. So, I'm grateful for that. Hopefully, I'm waiting for the call that I can go pick up my husband today, hopefully that will happen, I hope! Not much else today, hopefully I'll be feeling better and bringing it harder tomorrow (and tonight). See you then!

Sweating like never before!!!

Geez! Can I get a squeegee? I am sweatin my butt off, which I guess is good. I did a great round of dance party, weights,and abs this morning, and whew! I'm sweating more than when I do the Kenpo X! Shower will definitely be required today, haha. Last night did some mark,move and groove and my weights and abs before I went to bed and could not sleep for some reason. Hopefully, I will be getting some good news today on my husband's situation, or atleast SOME information, more than we had at least. I'm so ready to quit worrying about that. Uggh! Who knows, I could be going to pick him up and bring him home today, or I could be facing the next year on my own like we thought. Who knows! Stress doesn't help me at all. I wish next week would hurry up and get here so I could weigh in without all this water weight! Geez! Anyway, I will keep you all updated, or should I say, I'll keep Matt updated, since he's the only one who reads this and keeps up with it. Shame on the rest of you! See you tomorrow!

Put on your platforms and disco with me

I am sweatin!!!! Great disco dance workout this morning, followed by weights and abs! I woke up a little sore from last nights workout but it's gone now that I worked out again! Did dance, weights and abs last night. Went shopping yesterday, didnt buy anything, but still fitting in clothes that I wouldn't have a couple of months ago, may go back today to find a dress for an upcoming occasion, I never would've bought a dress a couple of months ago. No working outside again this week it looks like with the forecast full of rain. I wish it would clear up. Anyway, not much else to report today, see you tomorrow.

A touch of plyometrics

Uggh, I hate the last week of the month! I'm already bloated and just feeling blah, I hate weighing in on these weeks, even though I've hit day 60, I'm refusing to weigh or measure in while I'm bloated and possibly getting sick! I will wait till next week! I did some plyo this morning, no by no means did I do the whole plyo workout, but I did some! I also did weights, stretches and abs. I plan to get some walking in this morning and do another workout tonight. A lot of stress that I've had the last couple of weeks should be cleared up soon which will clear my mind some. I've got to get me some new workouts to put in my schedule. Thinking about ordering the turbo jam. It looks interesting. Anyway, not much here once again, so I will talk to you all tomorrow!

Haha, I'm full of sarcasm this morning if you can't tell! I brought it today! I did stretch X video, Mark move and groove, and weights, and abs! I'm pumped! I got a great afternoon workout yesterday, repainting, moving furniture and redecorating my daughters bedroom (again). haha. I didn't mind cause it was a great workout! Once I got up and got my coffee in me this morning, I was rarin to go, and I'm not stoppin, now to find something to do on a rainy day for the rest of the day will be the challenge! I'll keep movin though, already got some stuff to do on my list. Maybe the weather will let up and I can get out and do something constructive! Grab your weights, and lift with me

Good Morning! Had a great workout this morning, did a round of dance aerobics, weights, ab workout, and some stretches. Got home so late last night from the ballgame, went straight to bed so I brought it this morning. Doesn't look like I'll be working outside today, thanks to the weather, so I will try to fit another workout in later. I need to fit in some yoga and stretch, I've been doing all high impact lately. Diet is still good, I dont get near as hungry anymore. I dont feel like eating my usual dessert after dinner, but I need to get calories in, so I'll have to work on that one. Its been so hot, its not hard to drink a lot of water. Been trying to work outside for that reason. I'm dying for my husband to get me my day 1 photos so I can take my day 60 and compare! I wish he'd hurry up! Oh well. Hope you all have a great day today, pick up some weights and lift your life up with me! I'm doing it, which means you can too!

Helllloooo, is this microphone on????

Geez, it's quiet in here. Guess all my cheerleaders and coaches have left me! Boo hoo! Well, I'm still bringin it, wether I'm alone or not. Last night I did dance, it was great, brought it extra good last night, cause I had a cup of icecream yesterday, that was the first "sweet treat" I've had since I started, so I didn't have my usual lunch or dinner in order to justify the calories. This morning I did Core Synergystics, weights, abs, and a few extra moves. I feel great! I worked out in the yard yesterday which I love to do now that I'm in shape, and plan to do some more today if the weather holds up. Weight loss is going good and clothes fit better each and every day. I just need to get my tan on and get my hair taken care of now! I plan to be on the beach in a two piece next summer, thats my goal, to be in a swim suit with no tent size cover up, not sucking in, just enjoying myself! I have no doubt in my mind that I will get there either. Well, I'm gonna go see what mess I can start in the yard, and spend time with the kids and get this house clean again! See you tomorrow!

I'm baaaack!

Sorry guys, yesterday was so hectic, I did not have time to blog, but hey, I've only missed 2 days in 2 months, thats not bad for me at least! Last night I did some quick weights and abs, I had worked out in the yard yesterday as well. This morning, I slept late since it was the kids first day out of school, and I got up, had eggs and ham for breakfast, high protein, low carbs, and did a round of kenpo X and weights and abs. I need to get back to more p90x moves since I've been doing a lot of dance lately. I'm almost to day 60 and will take more pictures and measure and weigh. I'm still waiting for my husband to get me my day 1 pictures off the computer that crashed, so I can compare, I have not compared any pictures yet! Can you believe that! Gonna run errands and work in the yard some more today. Since the kids are outta school, we can look into getting our bikes to ride now. I'm so excited! Not much else to say today, so I will see you tomorrow, wait, who am I talking to, nobody has been reading this lately. Ok, so I'm talking to myself....."Myself, I will see you tomorrow, I'm proud of you", haha. I know I'm nuts!

Getting back on schedule

My schedule has been absolutely crazy lately! I've had so much going on with the kids ending their school year and my husband being gone, visiting him, birthdays, you name it! I've managed to squeeze in workouts around it all, but I will be glad when the kids are fully out of school, and I can bring it even harder! I went and visited the hubby yesterday, not very eventful, it was cold and raining, we just sat around, I watched everyone else eat cook out food, and I chose not to cheat, I came home and ate later. It was hard leaving him again, he and I both have a lot of stress over his deployment process, hopefully that stress will be put to rest soon. However, I was kinda bummed, no comments on my weight loss, I feel better, but no one else really says anything. Same with my new hair, no one says anything, it's like "People?!, give me some feedback here!". Either way, I'm not quitting. I feel so much better and I can feel all the difference. I did weights and abs last night as well as this morning due to me having to be at the school early, so I will do another workout in the middle of the day today after I get the kids home before I do my night workout tonight. Looks like tomorrow will be the same way due to schedule. Again, I will be glad to get back on a good routine! Will be officially weighing in and measuring soon for day 60, seems like just yesterday, I was at day 30. I'm glad though. So, I will see you later for my workout update! Disco Fever!

Whew! I feel like I just auditioned for Soul Train!!!! Great morning workout with the disco dance routine, weights, and ab workout. I did a quick weight this morning, and I've lost another 3 lbs! and almost 10 inches in the waist! Wow! Last night I did my weights, crunches, and ab moves. I was sore after bowling yesterday. I knew I wanted to work the abs and arms extra good this morning since I'm wearing my new shirt today! haha. Corny, I know! My body and my oufit may be looking good today, but with this weather, I'm afraid my hair will look awful! Uggh! And we're going to be outside the whole time, oh fun! Oh well, I gotta go get ready for today, I will report in tomorrow with an update! See you there!

Aaaah, stretch X on a Saturday morning

It is such a relaxing way to start your day. Stretching for an hour, is there anything better, you're getting a workout, but focusing on keeping your muscles loose and limber and you feel wonderful afterwards. I also added my weights and ab workout afterwards, I am definitely feeling that in the mornings, but as soon as I start working out, the soreness goes away. Did some more shopping yesterday, bought my first sleeveless shirt to wear in years! My arms are still too big for my taste, but way better than they used to be. I am going bowling today, so that should get me an extra workout in. Hopefully today will fly by fast, I'm ready to be rid of guests, and I get to see my husband tomorrow! I plan to do dance, weights and abs tonight. So, I will see you tomorrow to report in on how that went! Have a great day!

I love shopping now!!!!

Woo hoo!!!!!! I went shopping yesterday to get some new clothes, and I literally shouted and danced in the dressing room, when I picked out the size I had been wearing, and they were falling off!!! So, I went out, went down a size, and they were still too big!!!!! I went down another two pant sizes!!!! I also went down a whole top size too!!!!!! I was so happy with myself, I didn't call and tell anyone till after I had checked out, that made it real for me, haha. I know I'm weird! I did weights and abs last night after a long night at the ballpark, I also did the new wii yesterday, so I woke up sore! This morning, I did two rounds of dance, weights, and ab workouts. I was bringin it! I'm so excited about my new clothes fitting! I have met one, no I've surpassed, a small goal I set for myself to be down to this size before my husband officially left for deployment and I have done it! I can't wait to go two additional sizes down! Well, off to get ready for the day and go watch a play at school. See you tomorrow, smaller, but still bringin it!

Rockin Abs plus

Had a great workout this morning, definitely was out of breath and covered in sweat, so I guess I did good, haha. I did Rockin Body dance, my weights, and ab workout. I wanted something high impact because I'll admit, last night after having guests all day, I was so exhausted and stressed out, that I just went to bed last night and didn't do a night workout. So, I had to make up for it this morning. Diets good though, didnt cheat due to the birthday at all. I have no desire to. I will be doing a good workout tonight to, just to catch up even more. I'm 10 days away to my day 60 pictures, so I'm gonna be bringin it! I gotta go get a new outfit for this weekend, this should be interesting, I'm not getting my hopes up, but I know I can't wear baggy jeans and a tshirt thats gotten too big, so I need something to go see my husband for the family get together! Wish me luck! So, not much else to post today, will be busy all day probably, so I will talk to you tomorrow!

Busy busy day!

My arms are PUMPED right now! Did a huge weight work out this morning, crunches, ab exercises, and whew! I feel like popeye right now! haha. Todays going to be a busy day thanks to my youngest turning 10 today! I've got company coming over, getting ready for birthday stuff, etc. so I made my own workout this morning. Last night I worked out again with my daughter. We did 2 different dance routines, and wow! it was great! Then we did weights, crunches, and ab moves. This morning my abs and bootie were a little sore! I love that she is becoming interested. I dont want her to grow up getting in the habit of just not caring. I want them to take care of themselves like I should have been doing for the last 13 years! Getting closer and closer to my day 60 check in! Can't wait! Got a couple of events coming up in June that I will not go shopping for an outfit for until right before, don't want to buy something that will end up being too big! Looking to add some more workout videos to my collection haven't decided which ones yet, but shopping and reading reviews. I like to change it up, I like options! I like variety! May do some shopping today, so I'll get a little walking in as well. See you tomorrow, bring it INTENSE!

Bringin it again!

Good morning, today was stretch X since I had such a long and amazing workout last night. This morning along with stretch x, I did my usual weight reps, and crunches. Loving the 12 lbs weights, I won't be on those long though, and I'll have to move up. Last night, I did a round of dance party by myself, then the kids asked to do a workout with me, so I popped in the disco dance and they could NOT keep up with momma! haha. So, I put in the mark move and groove and did that with them,and laughed so hard at their lack of rhythm, must've gotten that from their father! Then they wanted to do weights, thank goodness I have three sets already, so I showed them some easy weight moves, and showed them some moves with the stretch bands, and told them they could each have a set of bands and weights. So, I got an incredible amount of workout last night, a little sore this morning. We have another birthday in the house tomorrow and more guests coming, but I'm not cheating! It doesn't even bother me anymore, I'll get the occasional craving for chocolate (like last night) thanks to female hormones, but other than that, which is a minute amount, I have done perfectly! Go me! Got to get me some more work out clothes while I'm out shopping today, they're either too big, or I'm tired of having to wash every day! haha. See you tomorrow!

Party Express

Bow-chicka-wow-wow! I did a great round of Party Express dance aerobics this morning. I love dance aerobics. I love dancing and feeling like I'm not working out! I also did my weights and did 50 crunches, I'll work up to more, but just wanted to add some ab workouts, still trying to get down one more size in pants soon! Last night I just did my weights since I worked out in the yard so much, figured I'd gotten in atleast a little workout with all that. Emotions surrounding this deployment are trying to pull me down, but I'm not stopping, I'm working through them. Diet is good, trying to push more water like I should have been doing. I get so full these days, I have to watch the amount of food I fix, I hate wasting. Going grocery shopping in a few days and we will all be on the same foods starting now! No more junk for the kids either. As soon as they're out of school I hope to start riding bikes, and trying my hand at jogging. I soooo want to jog, I would love one day to run a local race just to say I did it! I want to wear a number and run through the finish line! Anyway, enough day dreaming. Off to start my day. P90x and Rockin Body, so far they are the two things that have changed my life, whats your secret?

Mothers Day Cardio

This will go on record as my most successful Mothers Day yet. Before I always spent Mothers Day wishing I was in shape, thinner, a better looking mom. Not this year, I'm steadily on my way now! I'm proud of myself and I know my children are proud of me too. I did weights last night, and I impressed myself. I had been working out with 8 lbs weights, and finally bought me some 12 lbs weights yesterday, and I was afraid I'd be sore, and NOPE, I wasn't! I did all my reps with the 12lbs with no problems. Guess I'll be moving up again soon! This morning I did cardio and my weights. I'm going to spend this Mothers Day with my children working in the yard which I love to do, yesterday I even took a dip in the kiddie pool and tanned for a while! May do that again today, I'm in no hurry, today is a day for me and my children! I'm slowly getting closer to my day 60 check in, can't wait! I can't believe I'm halfway done with my first 90 days! I feel great and will continue to feel even better with every inch and lbs that is lost! I'm Bringin it, are you?!

Yoga-helps me calm down and focus

Geez, I must've gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, just nothing was going right, which helped me decide to do yoga this morning. The focus breathing and just slowing down, concentrating on what I was doing, helped a lot. I also did my weights. Last night I guess was my emotional night for the week, so between tears and being a little sore, I gave myself a rest night. I love my workouts though, I feel so much better afterwards, didnt want to do anything to sweaty this morning since I had to shower first thanks to the landscaper waking me up and trust me, I needed to shower and get ready before seeing ANYONE today. I looked a wreck! So, also another reason I went with yoga. I plan to do something more moving and higher impact tonight. Hopefully soon, I'll be past all this emotional transition stuff and can just kick it into high gear. I still can't for the life of me get good at the sun salutations between every move, the plank just kills me, and I'm trying to be patient and do the moves with the video but Tony talks so much between moves, that I'm now impatient, I go ahead and start on the next move. Love the weights, I'm using my ottoman/coffee table as a bench, I so need a real weight bench, but where the heck would I put it?! May work on the arms later this afternoon, cant tell if its gonna be another rainy day in the house or not. Anyway, see you tomorrow, less tears, and bringin it to the max!

Kenpo X kickin it out

Gooooood Morning!!!! Great workout this a.m. I did Kenpo X, my knee is feeling much better, not complete yet, but much better. I also did my weight reps which I add a few moves to each time, whatever it takes to feel my ab muscles work, and I try to work all the arm muscles, which I'm definitely seeing a difference in both areas. Last night I did "booty time" dance aerobics and weights for the third time yesterday. I snuck in a lunchtime weight round. I'm still determined to not buy any clothes yet, but my clothes are looking more "frumpy" the bigger they get. I guess I'd still rather be frumpy than look like I used to though. I would looooove to get down one more pant size before July. One reason I keep working on my abs so much, trying to get that waist down. That is a short term goal. Long term, I still have about 80 lbs to lose to be at my "ideal" weight. I've got a year to get to that goal and I have no doubt that I will make it. Great diet, turkey burgers tonight, gotta go get some fruit and stuff to stock up, and loving the sugar free jello as a new treat every now and then. Still getting my calories, low carbs, and high protein in every day. I'm bringin it, are you?

Stretch and reps

Had a great workout this morning, still keeping it somewhat low impact, knee is improving slowly so I dont want to mess it up again. I'll be glad when it's back to full strength. This morning I did stretch X and my weights. Last night I did some more dance and my weights. I keep adding new moves and more reps to my weights and I can tell a difference, I was a little sore this morning in the abs and arms, but I worked through it, I'm trying to stop atleast once during the day and do a few more weight reps. Slowly, my stomach is coming back into what it's supposed to look like and not some horrible melted blob of lard! My arm muscles are much more noticeable and legs are in great shape. I've always had big leg muscles, thanks in part to years of softball, and I see them coming back. I don't have back rolls anymore and the "hump" on the top of my back that runs in the family has almost completely disappeared. I hated that hump! Chest is finally shrinking, I can reach further, bend over easier, I can see my knees when I bend over to stretch the hamstrings now, before I was just looking at nothin but boobage, now I can see my knees! Again, it takes so little to excite me. I cannot wait till months from now I can look back and say, this is where I started, and this is what I've accomplished, look at me now! I feel so much better in general and have a hard time sitting still now. Plan to work out tonight, we shall see what workout I do with how my knee is feeling. See ya tomorrow!

Rockin Momma!

Woot woot! I had an amazing workout today. Knee was still sore, but I put my knee wrap on, and did 1 1/2 workouts of Rockin Body and Booty Time! Worked up a great sweat, and quit when my knee started hurting. Then did my weight reps. Last night I did a ton of weight reps and a few stretch moves. I weighed in at home today (for day 40) and I've lost another 4 lbs!!!!! Did a quick waist measurement and lost another 3 inches I think (I was still waking up haha). That just gave me the motivation to BRING IT today! Diet is great, I need to make my usual fruit run to stock up on my fresh fruits again, thats the best part of my day now. I made a bunch of sugar free jello last night for 10 calorie snacks! Planning on making seasoned turkey tenderloin for dinner for me and the kids with veggies on the side, mmmmm! I am going to be bringing it nonstop till day 60, that will be right before my husbands going away ceremony for deployment and that is one of my little goals for myself to look decent for that ceremony! New hair, New body, and workin on the tan if the sun will come out! So, watch out world, I'm a crazy woman dancing the pounds off!

Late start but good news....

Well, I got a late start today thanks to my knee injury. I woke up and it was hurting pretty good, then I went to move something with my foot and it was excruciating, so I said thats it, I'm going to get it checked out. I was worried that I had really messed myself up. The doc said I just tore a cartilage ligament though, that I could still work out, just to take it easy on that leg until it got better which is great news. Also, I had been to the doc less than a week ago, and weighed in two pounds less today, I haven't weighed in at home yet, planning to in the next couple of days. Last night I made myself do weights, and today after I got cleared by the doc, I came home and did most of the core workout, I figured that was low impact enough, then I did some major weights, and will do more tonight. I still need to get me some larger dumbells, but I've just been doubling up with the two sets that I have for now. Hopefully, my knee will get better soon cause I'm ready for my aerobics again! I'm not quitting, I'm not giving up, I will not fail. I've come too far to go back. I will hobble through until my leg is back to normal and bring it like never before after that. Hopefully no more injuries!

Rainy Day Workouts

Well, I guess I just totally forgot to blog yesterday. Didn't even realize it till today. Yesterday I did stretch X and weights, and last night I did Rockin Body cause my leg was feeling better, but now It's sore all over again as of this morning. I did weights again last night. Today was legs, back, abs, weights, and tonight I will add another workout. My energy level is coming back up, wish the weather was better so I could get active outside more, we've had nothing but rain for 24 hrs now. Hopefully that's over with. I would love to add some running to my daily workouts, but its' definitely something I'll have to work up to especially with this bum leg. I've never been a good runner, but I figure I'll start around the house, down my road, then work up to farther lengths. I will be weighing and measuring in again soon. Dont' know exactly what day yet, but I will keep you updated! See you tomorrow, hopefully the leg will be better!

Working through my injury

Well guys, I was right, I have obviously pulled a muscle that runs from beside my knee down the inside of my leg to my ankle, don't know the name of it, but it's name is "sore" for now. Just sensitive when I put weight on it. So I did a very light yoga this morning and my weight reps, I did weight reps and a few ab moves last night. I'm hoping by taking it easy that it will get better. Maybe I need to ice it or heat it later today. I want it to get better because I still want to try out my other dance aerobics, I think I hurt it disco dancing, imagine that haha! Guess I did the "afro" a little too hard! I've got to get me some heavier weights, I started this whole thing with 5 pound weights, moved up to 8 pound weights, and their just not enough now, so I plan on getting me a set of 10 and 12 pound dumbells. Diet is good, still only having wheat bread with dinner before my night workout, eggs and a meat for breakfast, 8oz shake and 2 string cheese for lunch and fresh fruit as dessert with dinner. Yummy! When I went to the doc for a checkup the other day, it showed a higher weight loss, but I havent recorded it at home since day 30 and he was glad to see that I was finally on track to getting a hold on the problem I've been complaining about for years...the weight, the joint pain, the tiredness, the depression, all gone thanks to my new lifestyle! Now if I can just get this knee muscle thing fixed! See you tomorrow and hopefully I'll be back to full force!

P90X military style!

Hooah! I am in full "go" mode! Even though I slept horribly last night with no husband here, I woke up this morning and put my combat tennis shoes on (hehe) and defended my waistline!!!!! Today was chest,shoulders, triceps, abs, then I did weights and mark, move, and groove! HOOAH! for me! I did a round of disco dance aerobics last night, it felt great, I think I may have pulled a small muscle in my leg, but I just worked through it this morning. I think I am going to make me a goal poster to show my losses and my goal. It will be a motivational tool, and I'll let the kids help me with it, maybe we'll do an activity poster for them, they could both use more activity as well. Anything to involve them! I can't wait till they are out of school and we can work out, ride bikes, go walking, and play sports together! Now all I need is some camo work out gear to go with my "slim soldier" attitude! haha. Anyway, off to do housework and stay active today! P90X, push play and BRING IT!

Today I start my mission....

First of all, I have to thank Matt for the encouragement. I WILL NOT let myself quit! I put my big girl panties on last night, jokingly not literally, and did a quick round of Kenpo X and I did my weight reps a total of 3 times yesterday!!!! I got up this morning and did my weights while the kids were getting ready for school and after I dropped them off, I came home and did my cardio and it was great, I've learned to like that workout. I hated it at first! Diet still good, I may switch my protein shake to dinner tonite so I can have lunch with my husband before I drop him off for the next year and a half! Geez, I'm not letting it affect me, in fact, it's driving me to not quit. It's my focus point while he's gone, I'm going to blow him and everyone else away by the end of this deployment, the old me will be just a funny memory! I'm still so proud of myself for getting into another pair of pants that I haven't been able to wear in over 2 years! They feel so good and dont look like a tent! Anyway, let me go let go of my hubby, cry on the way home, and bring it more than ever today and every day afterwards until he comes back home to the new me! Weakling day

Ugggh, I think my emotions are unconciously affected my energy level. My husband leaves tomorrow and as UN-emotional as I think I am, I think it's affecting me slowly. I did not get to work out last night due to visitors, and I planned to get up this morning and do some extra work, but I didn't. My husbands running around the house packing everything and taking away any sign that he lives here, and it's just distracting and depressing. But, I did 3x's the weight reps so I don't feel too bad, and I AM working out tonight. So, I know once he's gone, I can really concentrate on my workouts without distractions. I know thats bad to say, but I have to have something to focus on to make the time pass. I need to get my water up a little bit, but I feel like I spend all day going to the bathroom as it is, but I'll just have to push it. Oh well, see you tomorrow for the check in!

Where the heck are my cheerleaders?????

I'm so lonely here! Where did my cheerleaders disappear to????? Hellooooooooo?????? I need some motivation, I will need a lot soon when I go through the emotional toll of my husband officially leaving the house for deployment. I need some cheers!!!! I had to take last night off, I was soooo sore it wasn't even funny. But I'm glad I did rest, cause I was able to get up this morning and do Stretch X, my weight abs reps, and Mark move and groove. Great workout. I need to take some more pics soon since I've been doing the dance aerobics. Diet is great, it is difficult to get enough calories, you feel like you're eating waaaay too much. Gotta have my coffee though! Still only half a cup a day! That's all I need. Soon, me AND the kids will be eating better together, since my picky eater of a husband will be gone. There will be no temptations left in the house! I can't wait to get me a bike and me and the kids start riding every day this summer. Looks like we might go back to the beach this summer, and I plan to atleast look halfway decent, not like a beached whale that needs to be harpooned! Wish me luck!

Kenpo Dance Groove

Today was Kenpo X which I hurried through, just out of soreness, and didn't want to overdo it again, then I did my weight reps and mark, move, and groove. Last night I did Stretch X and the disco dance workout, that was hilarious, no wonder everyone was so skinny back then! I woke up this morning and could tell! I was sore! I notice a difference in myself every time I walk by a mirror and love it. Everything is shrinking and so far, there is no plateau going on here! I feel great. I am going to look into becoming a coach, I hope to help others with this same struggle the way my coach has helped me. I can't wait to say that I've done all the beach body products and had great success! Well, off to start my day and get some stuff done. See you tomorrow! Bring it!

Beachbody workout freak

Sorry todays post is so late, it's been a crazy day. Today was my daughters 13th birthday! So we had plenty to do to get ready for visitors. I did a round of rockin body last night, got the kids in here to do it with me and just 5 mins into it, I was dancing by myself, they couldn't handle it, haha! This morning, I did legs, back, abs, weights, and pushups. Tonight I will do weights and rockin body again. I was so proud of myself today, I wore a pair of pants that I have not worn since the kids birthday 2 YEARS AGO! Woo hoo!!!!! I could even button them, sit down in them, bend over in them, and they didnt pop off or rip open! I made it through lunch and cake and icecream and did not cheat. I'm hungry now, so I will be having my planned meal for dinner. Great day and looking forward to the days to come! See you then!

Shimmy, shimmy, cha cha, grapevine!

Wow! I did about 20 mins of my dance aerobics last night, and Wowzer! I woke up this morning and was almost stiff! You can feel it working every single part of your body while you're doing it, but boy did I feel it this morning. And I've learned the best way to get rid of soreness....is to work out some more! I did a quick run through of yoga this morning prob about 30 mins, then did my pushups and ab weights, then I did the intro video to Rockin Body again, and I'm still loving it, I can't wait till I can do it with the house all to myself and I can rock out and just get into it totally (and hope I don't break a hip, haha). Feeling absolutely great now, my bum is still a little sore, but I'll deal with that. You definitely break a great sweat during dance aerobics, showers are required afterwards! Diet still going great, not going to cheat with all the birthdays going on in the house, I'm workin too hard to cheat! Going to pamper the birthday girl today with a spa day, and I'll do a light workout again tonight! Remember, push play and bring it!

Rockin Body day 1

No, I havent by any means quit the p90x videos, I've added to them. I'm trying so hard to avoid a plateau. Today was chest, shoulders, triceps, and abs on p90x and I also added my pushups and extra weight moves. And now that I finally received my new videos, I did the Mark, Move, and Groove of the Rockin Body series with Shaun T, and I LOVE IT! I miss my younger days when all I had to do to stay in shape was go out dancing on the weekends and look awesome. So, this dance aerobics routine is exactly up my alley. I love the moves, some of them I remember doing like it was yesterday. It was a great workout, mainly because you're having too much fun and getting into it, that you dont realize that you dont stop moving the whole time! I'm going to love this as a supplement to my usual workouts. Once I go through all these videos, I'll have to get Shaun T's others that he offers. Feeling absolutely great today, ended up skipping my lunch protein shake yesterday just because I was out and busy and life in general, so I ate a couple of string cheese to tie me over and had turkey burgers (whole wheat) for dinner and strawberries with fat free whip cream for dessert, it was delicious, I could not finish it all and was miserable for a few hours, and I didn't even eat that much. Off to get ready for the day and stay active! Rock your body with me!

Phase 2 in process...

Today was cardio and got a great workout! I am up to 15 pushups and doing multiple ab weight reps outside of the workout dvd. I'm hoping my other workout videos come in today or soon! I'm ready to mix things up a little. Everything I've read says a lot of people hit a plateau during the 30-60 day phase, and the key is to uping your workouts, bringing it, and changing up your diet, so that you're not doing the same thing that you were doing from day 1-30. That is going to be what I concentrate on, because I do NOT want to hit a plateau. I took out my whole wheat toast from my breakfast, so I'm uping the calories slightly like instructed, but lowering the carbs. We'll see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't, then we'll try something different! I recommend p90x to so many people, but unless your mindset is right, and you are dedicated, then I'm afraid you will never get the results you desire. I see other people losing lbs by dieting or gastric surgery, but I feel so much better about the way I'm doing it, I'm not shortcutting it, I'm working out AND watching everything that goes in to my body. I feel I will have much more long term success and it will change my life permanantly instead of temporarily. See you tomorrow! Phase 2!

Woo hoo, weigh in day!

Yesterday was the last day of week 4, so this morning, i got up bright and early and weighed and measured in!!!! The scale showed that I have lost 10lbs (which I know it should show more, but I've gained a lot of muscle mass, so I'm ok with it showing 10)!!!! I measured in and lost a total of 14 inches! 4 from my waist, 4 from my chest, 1 from each arm, 1 from each leg, and 2 from my hips!!!!!! Yay me! I literally walked out of my britches last night, and the kids were just laughing at me, guess I'll have to be pulling out some old jeans now. I refuse to go buy new clothes yet. That will start next month, for now, I'm kind of enjoying being swalled whole by clothes that used to fit snug! Today started phase 2, core synergistics today and I added ab weight reps and pushups again. I'm ready to step it up. I'm hoping that by the end of my 90 days, I'm in good enough shape to start running, I've always wanted to be a runner, but just physically couldn't. My knees are in much better shape, all my joints, they dont hurt like they used to, I'm much more limber and stronger. So, I raise my glass (of water) to you P90X, we're bringin it, together!

Almost there!

Today was Stretch X and I added my usual ab weight reps and 10 more pushups, trying to get that a normal part of my routine now. I cut two of my carbs out just until I weigh in, then I'll put them back and step up my reps. Last night I did a round of stretch as well, I'll be glad when my new videos come in so I can switch up a little bit. I think I'll do shoulders and arms tonight. Just to keep those maintained. Can't wait to get past the 30 day countdown and start on to day 60! I try to squeeze in little moves or reps during the day in whatever project or chore I'm working on, it's really become second nature to do that, I dont even realize most times until I've already done it. Even backing up the truck is a move that I use in Stretch X. Now I just need to get some sunshine on myself and get a new tan to go with the new and improving me! All in due time I say. I'm a tree!

Well, that is, I'm a tree during my yoga workout! Yoga is getting easier every time I do it. I can hold most of the poses the entire time now, I'm still not doing every single Chatarunga between the moves, only half of them, but thats better than none! Great stretch! I did another round of Stretch X last night and did another round of pushups. I decided not to work on my abs last night because they were sore. I did however, get 10 pushups in after my yoga today and did about 10 mins of ab weight reps which feels great! Almost to day 30! Then I get to take my updated pictures, weight, and measurements! The kids have been trying to work out with me here and there, and I think I finally am justified in looking at them a wii fit. I think that'll be more on their level, and I'm hoping to keep us super active this summer while they're out of school. So we may join the wii family. haha. Going to keep active today, diet still going superb! Still having my half cup of coffee, and water the rest of the day! My pants that I always wear around the house kept falling completely off yesterday especially if I stuck my cellphone in my pocket! Gotta Love it! Guess I'll have to get some new house slouching pants soon! haha. See ya tomorrow!

Military trained pushups!

I had a great workout today! It was cardio day and boy was I sweatin! Yesterday after my photo shoot, I came back home and did a workout of shoulders, arms, and abs, and added some ab weight moves that works your tummy good! Then last night I didnt want to take another night off, so I popped in the stretch video that I had sped through yesterday morning, and did it all the way through. Since my soldier hubby was home, I got him to come watch me do my pushups and see if I was doing them correctly, how I could improve, etc. He showed me different techniques they use in the army and I went from doing 3 and nearly passing out, to 10 this morning! I'm definitely going to work on them daily though to build up my strength. It frustrates me when I can't do something, so I work at it till I can! I added some more pushups and abs with weights after my cardio today and it felt great! All my girlfriends went to the beach in their bikinis, and I knew I wasn't going to be ready for that big step, but just you wait till next year, I'll be out there with them! p90x bring it!

X Stretch

Well, last night was my resting night, and I needed it! I had no kids, so I was in bed around 8pm! I knew I needed to get up early today to do my workout before my 9am photo shoot, so I went through a very quick round of X stretch, and since I felt like I sped through it so fast, I'm wanting to come home after my photo shoot and squeeze in another morning workout, just so I feel like I've done something. This new phase has thrown me back into a little soreness, but I'll work through that. I have to admit, I cheated yesterday, my son left the scale out in the bathroom, and I was dying of curiosity, and I was dissapointed in a way. I weighed with clothes on and after I had eaten dinner and it only showed an 8 lbs loss. Hmmm, not encouraging. But, I do know that I've developed a LOT of muscle so that accounts for a lot. I'm not going to let myself get discouraged because I do FEEL the difference. My clothes fit different, so I'm not stressing over the numbers, I can't wait for day 60 right before my husband deploys, so that it is my major goal, to look better for his going away ceremonies! Well, off to go do my other job (photography), so I'll be back soon!

TKO-Kickbox!

You better not mess with me, my uppercut is pretty scary! haha. Today was kickboxing, and I was suprised I was sore this morning after all the yoga yesterday, so I wasnt all pumped up this morning, but I did great. Again, I've learned that all the soreness goes away if you get moving again. I went all the way through the workout today, was sweating like a polar bear in hell. I've gotten a couple more simple compliments over the last day or two which is nice, I'm just ready to blow someone away! I know this is way TMI, but it's an accomplishment to me, I've even noticed that my "underclothing" has gotten too big! I refuse to go out and buy anything new yet, but I have to make sure I wear drawstring pants around the house with them tied, otherwise, I lose my britches and underpants! NOT GOOD! Well, it is good, it's just not nice to flash your neighbors! haha. I can't wait for my additional videos to arrive to have some new moves to do. Now, I am pumped for the day, I feel great, and if I might say so myself, I'm lookin pretty dang good! See ya tomorrow! Day 24 Done!

Yoga-Yoga Bear

My workout schedule has been stepped up to a new schedule since I'm on week 4, so today was yoga. I'm learning to like this workout more, and I'm able to do more and more moves, I'm no gumby, but I'm doing them! I love the meditation and cool down at the end, you're so calm when you get done, you don't even feel like you just did an hour and a half workout. I did the stretch video last night since I was so busy, and it was late, so I didn't do anything too high impact. I ordered another set of workouts from beachbody yesterday, I can't wait for them to come in. I got the dance workout series, I've always loved dancing and I think it'll be an amazing addition to my p90x workouts. Momma's gonna get her groove back! Got out and played a little basketball yesterday too which was great. I think I may try the chest and back workout tonight. We'll see how time goes after a night at the ballpark again. P90x-Are you bringin' it? I sure am!

Week 4 Day 1

Hooah! I brought it with the core synergistics today! I had a great workout, yesterday was a "rest day", and since we were out late with the baseball game, I took my rest by not doing a second workout, and I think it actually did me good, I was trying to get a little sore, but was fine this morning. I'm looking for a supplement workout to do as my night workout, instead of repeating the p90x videos over and over. That way I keep up with the "muscle confusion" technique. Diet still going great, I've suprised myself at how well I've done on it. Jeans and shirts are fitting better each and every day. I'll be glad to start working on the chest-al area, maybe those will shrink too, and wont choke me or smother me every time I do the plow move! haha. Way TMI, I know! It'd be nice to be able to do jumping jacks without getting black eyes or causing earthquakes. haha. Tonight will do another good workout, I'm bringing it here on week 4 before weighing in, I'm a little nervous on the weight numbers, I know muscle weighs more than fat, so I'm worried the loss numbers wont be as high as I hope for. But I'm hoping the inches measurement will make up for that!

Week 3...Done!!!!

3 weeks done!!!!!!!!! Yay me!!!! I did stretch X as my night workout last night, so this morning I did another round of Kenpo X and had a great workout. I'll do a light workout tonight before I begin week 4 with Core Synergistics tomorrow. Even with my crazy schedule here lately, I've been able to squeeze in that second workout with no problems and I feel sooo much better. Now that I'm getting close to day 30, I'm already pumping myself up for day 60, I can't wait till I can say I'm at day 60! And once I reach that goal, I'll be ready for the next goal. Went into town yesterday and saw some friends for the first time since I started this, and they didn't say anything, I was hoping they'd notice, but hey, maybe they were just busy, or distracted, or maybe theres not as much difference as I see myself, but thats all that matters, is what I feel, is what I think. So, I got over yesterday and gave it my all last night and today in my workouts. Tomorrow begins my week 4 and my countdown to weigh and measure in. So, join me, work with me, and wish me luck!

Kick yo' boo-tay Kenpo X

Whew! I brought it today! I got through the whole Kenpo X video and didn't stop!!!! I was pumped, had some tension and stress to work out, and it did the trick! I have to say I was angry with someone this morning and it kind of helped having a target to punch at and kick at, haha, atleast an imaginary target that is! Feeling great after that. I did the stretch x video last night, I was tired after driving all day, but it did me so much good last night, I slept right through the storm that has flooded half of our town! I went and visited family yesterday, stuck to my diet, made it through all the easter candy and easter baskets, and didn't cheat. I didn't want to. Did a few ab exercises after the kickboxing today, I think I've got one of those bellies that will never go back to perfect on its own, but hey, I'm just still proud of myself for seeing my belly button again! haha. Today was day 20! Only 10 more days till I get to weigh and measure!

Workin out with the Easter Bunny!

I woke up early and did my legs and back workout before anyone else got up. The peace and quiet was great! My legs are pumped now for the day, and our trip home to see all the family. Did a core workout last night. I've been doing just a general workout at night, I don't push myself as hard as in the mornings. Haven't been sore from adding to the workouts thank goodness. I'm only 10 days away from my first weight and measurement check! Woo hoo! Still need to either get me a chin up bar or figure out how to attach my bands in order to do those moves. I'm waiting to hear back from my coach on that one. So, I am ready for a day of driving, easter egg hunting, and visiting today and I'll come out and do a light workout tonight! Pre Easter Yoga

Well, well, well. I got my chi on today with my hour and a half yoga workout! Wow, I am slowly getting more flexible and balanced, so am able to do some more of the moves, and I can feel it! A couple of them, I still have to support myself on, but in time, I will be a yoga black belt, haha! I was able to go to the plank position more today, and that also in time will hopefully become easier. I did another quick round of Kenpo X last night. I'm loving the double workouts. Its a good way to start my day and wind down my day. I will probably do core or something tonight as a workout, just to switch it up. Maybe now I'll be in better shape to go hide easter eggs with the kids today! I finally got my first compliment from my husband last night, he said "I'm proud of you". It means a lot, but I have to say, I'm more proud of myself. I'm doing this for me, for the right reasons, and doing it the right way. I'm just getting started, I don't want to spend another day of my life feeling and looking the way I used to. I've not only started a workout program, started a diet.....I've changed my life, I've changed myself, I've changed the way I live...for the better! Feel the Burn!!!!

Great workout this morning. Today was Shoulders, Arms, and Abs! My husband is off work today and I had to tell him to stay away while I did my workout. I don't like being distracted. But, I did it, got a great sweat, and feeling it after I'm done! I was so proud of myself last night. I had some unspent energy and the hubby was still not home, so I said what the heck, I'll do another workout, so I popped in the Kenpo X disk and wow it was great! I was worried I'd be sore or unable to do a full workout this morning after doubling up, but I wasn't! I slept so good after working out last night. May have to keep up with that! I've got to figure out how to avoid the "crackling" and "crunching" sounds that keep coming from my knees! Years of softball catching has always been bad on my knees, but it sounds like crackle paper! Hmmm, may look for some knee wraps to see if it helps. Had eggs and turkey sausage for breakfast, it was good, I noticed I get full a lot sooner now, I'm always giving away left overs which I never did before! Got to pick up my whole wheat bread that I forgot the other day, I'm missing my toast! Well, off for an adventurous day and possibly another workout tonight! Wish me luck!

Bringin It!

Woohoo, I've got my game back! I not only did my cardio workout today which is great, but I also added another 30 mins of plyo. It felt amazing! Diet is still great, after my grocery run yesterday, I went through the store with my p90x book and my diet book that shows every single food, carbs, calories, protein,etc. I was shocked at the amts of carbs or sodium in some of the foods I've always eaten and never thought twice about till now. I was able to find a lot of food, and am so excited about trying it all. The kids are on board for changing completely how we all eat, and as soon as my picky-eating husband leaves, we'll all be buying nothing but healthier foods. Workouts are going good. I woke up this morning and had that feeling like some people get when they wake up and realize they had a growth spurt, except I felt a shrinking spurt, walking past the mirror, moving around, just little things were more obvious today more than they have been. Energy level is back up from yesterday, thank you for my comment Matt, and we'll have to get you some pom-pom's for being a good cheerleader! I actually had some guy HONK at me on the road yesterday, and it wasn't because I was in his lane, he actually smiled and waved. Now I know that doesn't sound like much, but I haven't had anyone even acknowledge me for a looooong time. I like to have ran off the road! I felt like holding up a sign saying "Yes, P90X worked for me"! haha! See ya tomorrow!

Week 3 Day 1-not a good day :-(

Oh, it's just one of those days, I'm sure I'll have more of them soon. I did do my workout, core synergistics today, I didn't do nearly as well as I usually do, but my abs are really sore from plyo yesterday, guess I did overdo it, and I'm just emotionally drained. With the rapidly approaching deployment of my husband, I've offically taken my seat on the emotional roller coaster. He's hardly ever home anymore, and just as soon as I get myself settled into my "survivalist single mother mode", he'll stroll in at home to sleep or change clothes or eat, and then poof he's gone again, and I have to start my emotional process all over again. It just all caught up with me last night and obviously still is today. I'm sure it'll pass, but I'm not near as upbeat as I've been lately. I'm glad I've got this program as a project to concentrate on during the deployment transition. I need my cheerleaders more than ever right now. I will need motivation from everywhere I can get it. This program is my mission for this next year, my husband will have his mission, and this is mine. My award at the end is the body I thought I had lost forever. It will be my own freedom from the oppression of the lifestyle I had been living. Hooah!

Week 2 Done! Double Day!

Yep, thats what I said, week 2 accomplished!!!!! Woo hoo! I'm halfway to my first weigh in and measure! Today was an easy day, stretch X video which I love, you're so limber afterwards and so relaxed. Well, I decided to cheat a little bit, in a good way that is, I decided I wanted more! I've been curious about the Plyometrics X workout I keep hearing about, but it is not on my schedule yet, so I decided to see what all the fuss was about. I made it through the first 30 mins, I didnt want to totally overdo it today, but wow, I love that workout! I'm so much more responsive to the ones that keep you moving and go nonstop! I have to say though, the plyo video has a built in guilt trip. One of the guys on there is doing the entire workout with a prostethic leg! So, you feel like "how dare I quit when he's doing it IHOP style"! It definitely makes you keep going, I did most of the reps, so maybe by the time plyo is on my schedule, I'll be able to get through the whole thing! Love it! P90X Bring on Week 3!!!!!!

Kick, jab, cross, uppercut!

Kenpo X=kickboxing to die for!!!!! I LOVE this workout! This workout gets you pumped and makes you sweat more than you think is possible, but it keeps you constantly moving and before you know it, the hour is up! I love the puching, the kicks, the blocks, everything in this video! You have to concentrate on each move, or else, you'll end up like a pretzel, throwing puches with your legs, and kicking with your arms, haha! Today was day 13, yay me! Tomorrow is stretch x, which I also looooove. Coach Jim sent his day 58 pictures, and can I just say "WOW!" I am so proud of him!!!!! You look absolutely great Jim! It's my birthday and I'll workout if I want to! haha

Well, first workout as an official 31 year old! Today was Legs, Back, and Abs! It was a great workout in a house of peace and quiet before the kids woke up! Worked up a good sweat and can see more muscles in the legs and arms becoming visible! No birthday diet cheating today. My daughter fixed me grilled chicken sandwiches and packed them in the fridge for my dinner tonight as a birthday gift. How sweet! More painting and yardwork today to continue my workout and keep moving for the day. I'm in better shape today on my 31st birthday than I was when I turned 30 last year, so I'm doing the right thing. Great workout on the calves, hamstrings, and thighs today. Abs was great, I'm getting more reps in. Tomorrow is Kenpo x again, kickboxing here I come! See ya tomorrow!

Yoga Schmoga!

Aaah, what a great start to a Saturday, sleeping in a little late, waking up before the kids, having a healthy breakfast, doing my 1 1/2 hr yoga workout in the peace and quiet and then the kids sneaking up to give good morning hugs timed perfectly! I have to admit, so far, yoga is the hardest workout for me to enjoy believe it or not. The main thing that frustrates me is I still dont have the upper body strength to do the plank and push ups between every move. Most of the other moves I can either do perfectly, or I'm atleast halfway to fully flexible, but one of my new goals is to achieve being able to stay in plank and do the pushups. Yoga gets your body to do some serious stretching, and you feel absolutely great the rest of the day. Breakfast today was two pieces of whole grain toast and turkey sausage. My usual half cup of coffee for the day, and water the rest of the time. Oh, and I just realized that today was my official last workout as a 30 year old! Tomorrow I will do my first workout as a 31 year old. However, thanks to p90x my body is getting younger and in better shape instead of deteriorating! So, bring on the 31, cause I'm gonna BRING IT!

Do you have tickets to this "gun show"? haha

Check out my guns! I mean my arms! Todays workout was shoulders, arms, and abs! Great workout today, I love working with the weights. My arms, shoulders and neck are feeling tighter. In my process of doing things around the house, I've noticed more and more where muscles are visible where they haven't been. I got into an old pair of jeans yesterday, even buttoned them, their still a little snug, but couldn't have worn them a couple of weeks ago! I stopped last night and got the family some dinner, but came home and made my turkey burgers,and even had myself some strawberries for desert, and wow they were good! I think I got an even better workout yesterday painting, and will do it again today while finishing that project! Abs was good today, I'm getting a few more reps in each time I do the same workouts, which is good! Energy level is awesome! Thank you to Jim for the motivational video from Tony Horton today, everything he says is true, it's all about leaving the past behind, looking toward the future and your goals! P90x is slowly bringing back what I had lost over the years, I'm breaking free of the prison I had created for myself, and loving it! Me and my "guns" are off to paint! See ya tomorrow!

I did doubles!!!

What can I say, I felt like giving 150% today. My scheduled workout for today was cardio and I had a great workout with that. But I felt like adding a little bit afterwards, so I popped in the ab ripper x disk right after and completed that workout as well. Now, I'm feeling great, I may not smell too good after sweating for over an hour, but hey, you take what you can get, huh! haha. I got me some gym floor padding yesterday to put under my mat, and it helps great, but the gripper side still slides around, so I guess I will also add a non slip mat under that, I'll be working on a cushion tower by the end of this! I stayed active after my workout yesterday and got so much done and felt great all day. I plan to do the same today. Diet is still going great, turkey burgers for dinner tonight, yay! Protein shakes are so filling, but I've learned I have to suffer through the vanilla flavor, so I'll try the chocolate next time. I'm going through milk like crazy, but I love it, so I don't mind. Feeling great and bringing it every day, all I have to do is push play, and I change my life for the better each time I do!

Week 2 day 1

Week 2!!! Today was Core Synergenics and this workout gets you moving. I enjoy this workout it works all different areas. I was able to do more of it today this being my second time on this video and while I still had to take breaks, I did really well. I'm still having a lot of difficulty on the push up moves, I know that should be simple, but the combination of how I'm built and little upper body strength makes it sooo hard, but I'm determined to get there soon! I kind of "improv" my own version of a push up till I can get my arms built up enough. I've also got to get me something "cushion-y", to put under my yoga mat, cause my hardwood floors kill my knees and my feet tend to slide out of position a lot. I'll be looking for a solution while I'm out shopping today. I (again) love working with the weights, I've only got light weights now but plan to go up a few lbs next time I shop where I can get them. I notice that I can sit differently now, more comfortably, I'm much more limber when doing housework, and dont get as tired and out of breath as soon as I used to. And again, waiting till day 30 to do any measuring! Can't wait! P90X Can you bring it???? I can!~!!

Week 1....Done!!!!

Yessss!!!!!! I am officially done with week #1 of P90x! I did the hour long "stretch x" video workout today and I think I'm as limber as a noodle! This was a great refresher after the soreness from kickboxing yesterday and before tomorrows workout! I know this sounds crazy and so minimal to some people, but I'm having a major accomplishment moment last night and today. After only a week, I can actually see a hint of my belly button!!!! I only knew it still existed when I looked in the mirror or felt my surgery scar, but guys...I can actually see the top of it! When I sit down, I can see all of it! I couldn't do that either! I haven't seen my bellybutton in years with my own eyes and without the aid of a mirror! I am soooo happy!!! I cannot wait to get further into the program and see parts of my body that have been missing for years show up again! It's like shedding a skin that I've been burdened with! By no means am I showing "drastic" changes yet, but to me, I can feel it and thats what counts! Woo hoo for me!!!! Watch out world, I'm comin' back!!!!! 1 week down, and I will let ya know how it goes when I start week 2 tomorrow!

Kickboxing woo hoo!

I am pumped!!! I did the entire kickboxing workout, and boy does it get your heartrate going and it works so many different parts of your body at one time! My legs and butt are feeling it, but as they say...."It hurts sooo good!" haha. I kept moving throughout the entire workout and I think sweated off as much water as I did work off weight! I love this workout, it is definitely one of my favorites! I truly feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually with each day that passes! I've noticed a great improvement in my overall mood and energy level, much better sleeping habits, and more and more focused to continue this program. I can't wait till day 30 to remeasure and weigh for my first check in. I smile a lot more during the day and am just itching to stay busy with different chores or projects. Not only is my body going to look a lot better by the end of this, but my house will be fully redecorated and yard will be amazing, haha, thanks to all the energy! Still doing great on the diet, I had half a salad for lunch yesterday, my first meal out and gave the rest of it to my mom to have for dinner and I was soooo full. Had scrambled egg whites and turkey bacon for breakfast which seems too good to be true! Finally got over the headaches from quitting my diet cokes, I drink water all day long except for my half cup of coffee! Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day according to the schedule, however, I plan to atleast do the stretch video just to keep up my pace! See you then!

Legs, Back, and Abs

Can I just say that this is some true muscle working! I am definitely feeling the burn after todays workout and I huffed and puffed my way through the abs part, again, thats most difficult for me after surgery last year, but I'm already seeing a difference there, just a little, but better than nothing. I can look down and see my toes instead of just belly! haha. Had a great dinner last night, salad with cucumbers and portabella mushrooms (yum) and fixed everyone else dessert (strawberry shortcake) and I had just a few plain strawberries and they were delicious! This workout today truly worked your legs and back, even my arms are sore, I used weights when I could, and I've got to get me a chin up bar! I'm dying to have that kind of upper body strength! I'm still proud of myself, makes me much happier during the day knowing that I've accomplished my daily workout and that I'm staying on track, haven't been tempted to fail or cheat at all. It means waaay too much to me at this point! Tomorrow is kickboxing which I'm looking forward to, so I will be back after that workout to let you know whos bum I kicked! haha!

Day 4 Yoga

Day 4, soreness for the most part is gone thank goodness. I did half of my yoga before I woke everyone in the house up and got the kids to do the rest with me this afternoon which was quite amusing. Yoga is slow paced enough, where you dont get worn out, I've just got to train some parts of my body to bend in ways they never have, haha! Diets been great, everyone in the house understands that they have "their food" and I have "my food". Protein shakes for lunch which hold me over till the light snack and low carb high protein dinner early before bed. Water all day long, still cant let go of my half cup of coffee per day, but I'm willing to do extra work just to keep that coffee haha! Going to rest with the family, practice some baseball the rest of the day and look forward to updating you tomorrow!

Day 3

Ok, I have officially made it to the hardest part..... the middle of the first week and boy do I feel it! I am sore, but again, the only time it goes away is when I'm working out. I was a little nervous today, because my workout schedule called for me to do 2 sets of workouts, the first being shoulders and arms, and then second being abs. Can I just say, that I have fully identified muscles that haven't been worked since I was a teen? I'm loving working with the weights and bands though. Abs was hard, thats where I need the most work, so I pushed through most of the moves, and hopefully soon, it won't be so hard! Diet is going good, not hard to do at all. I have slept sooo much better since starting this, I had been having a lot of problems with sleeping at night, and I had to fight just to stay up till 6:00 last night! I've slept through the storms the last two nights, and other than a little soreness, have felt great when I woke up each morning! I don't plan on measuring or weighing in till I'm way into the program, I dont want to discourage myself with little number losses, so I am waiting. I know it sounds crazy, but I can already feel a little bit of difference, just the way I stand, and move and such. See ya tomorrow after my workout!

Day 2

Wow! is all I can say when it comes to the P90X cardio workout! I slept sooo well last night after my first day workout, when I woke up, I was quite sore and was worried I might not be able to do much today, but a hot shower and plenty of stretching and warm ups before the workout did the trick. All soreness was gone after a couple of minutes! You sweat, breath, and keep moving through the cardio workout. Its a combo of yoga, cardio, kickboxing, and core moves that works every part of you. I'm loving the kickboxing moves, can't wait to make it to that workout. Some of the moves I realize that it'll take me a little bit of time to fully get the moves down, I looked like I was having a seizure through some of them, but I figured atleast I was moving! haha! Now, for shower #2 of the day and finally some makeup on this scary face! haha! I'll see ya tomorrow!

Day 1 workout

Yes!!!! I just completed my first P90X workout! I did the Core Synergenics dvd today and whew, it works you over pretty good! I felt muscles wake up that haven't seen the light of day in a while! I was so proud of myself for being able to do most of the moves, and only had to take it easy on a couple of the moves! I have had my protein shake for the day and water. I didn't have my two usual cups of cofee, I had half a cup and no more diet coke! Just wanted to thank everyone for the encouragement, I will need it daily through this process. I also want to thank Jim and Melanie for turning me on to this program, I can't wait to share my progress. Off to do housework now and will update you on the soreness and workout for tomorrow!

Welcome to my shrinking blog

Hi! I am creating this blog to document the new chapter in my life. It's the chapter that I have put off writing or starting for ten years. I am officially starting the P90X program tomorrow morning and am determined to finally do this for myself. There's no turning back, I've got to do this to better my life not only for myself but for my children. My husband is soon to deploy again so I am dying to get started and continue this program while he is deployed. I have lived long enough hiding in my house, hiding in baggy clothes, and hearing comments on how well I "used" to look. I'm hoping friends and family can help hold myself accountable through my daily blogs and keep me motivated to stay on the right track. I'm tired of living as the "before" picture, and want to finally be able to call myself an "after". If you are struggling through the same situation, please join this blog, and if you have any helpful tips or suggestions, you also are welcome to join.
